About BECKON
BECKON is an independent publication exploring the places, people and ideas that shape life beyond the centres of attention.
We publish essays, profiles and field notes that bring together writing, photography and visual storytelling — grounded in the Central European cultural landscape and the Carpathian region, with an eye toward the wider human experiences these places reveal.
BECKON is currently in its first stage of development. The stories published so far have been created by our founding editor, Vladimír Jenčurák — by profession a landscape ecologist, drawn to writing and photography as ways of paying attention to place — but this is not intended to be a personal blog or an individual archive. Our ambition is to build a space for different voices, perspectives and forms of storytelling.
